Day 2

<Morning Devotion>
We had a Morning Devotion by Japanese participants.

We went to the observatory overlooking the whole city of Ginowan, Okinawa.

We went to the historical site called "Kakazutakadai", which was made during WW2.

More than 70 percent of U.S. military bases in Japan are located inside Okinawa Island. That's why about 15 percent of Okinawa Island is used as U.S. military bases. Nevertheless, the number of U.S. military bases on Okinawa Island continues to grow. There is a base that seeks to expand by reclaiming mudflats. And since construction began, the number of marine life, especially endangered species, living in the area have decreased significantly.

We went to the demonstration against the expansion of U.S. military bases.

We had a Reflection time by Natsuko Takito, Program Associate.
