It was February 17, 2018 when I did a triumphant shout. We won in a 21st Council of Management Educators and Practitioners of the Philippines Regional Conference as second place both in Impromptu Business Speech and Management Quiz Bee held at Iloilo Grand Hotel. That was one of the best days of my college life because it lifted my self confidence that made me believe in myself even more, that I can go beyond my comfort zone and do great things.

Before reaching that point, I was hesistant and confused because I still have thesis to finish and books to read for quizzes. The assigned staff to handle the Management Quiz Bee competition keeps asking me of my final decision. Through my family and friends' support I finally said yes. I had a hectic schedule that time since I need to read books for the Quiz Bee then review for quizzes the following days and finish my thesis. One night while studying I got a message from the assigned staff saying she's looking for participants in Impromptu Business Speech and my friend recommended me. Since that competition doesn't require lots of studying only that you just need to be updated of current events, I agree. I accepted the challenge because I saw it as an opportunity. Good thing the two competitions are a group challenge.

The day of competition finally came. I was having mixed emotions - excitement and at the same time nervous. I fixed myself early in the morning and went straight to the hotel. Just merely looking with the other competitors, I felt uneasy. Notes, coaches, judges and participants everywhere. When 10 am strikes, the Impromptu Business Speech competition started. We were in an isolation room and we could hear no one from the outside but only the chitchats of our co-competitors who were with us. As time goes by, finally we were told to go upstairs and answer the question. With the guidance of the Lord and our trust to ourselves as a team, we delivered our answer confidently.

We went to the room to relax and eat our snacks. Along with my Quiz Bee team, we started to review for the 3 pm Management Quiz Bee competition. While studying, one of our assigned staff got a message stating we won second place. Yes, second place! Happiness was seen all over our faces. We thank God for everything and congratulate the team for doing a job well done. That motivated me to start studying for the next competition. As 3pm strikes, we went downstairs to finally compete. Before settling down on our assigned table, we ask again for His presence. As the competition started, we focused in every question and chose an answer. It was a tough challenge because at times we were ahead of them in terms of scores and at times them as well. Each of us is eager to win the competition that leads us to give our best. When the competition was finally finished, we ranked as second place. Yes, second place again! We congratulated each other for the team cooperation that made us won the competition. As awarding of winners took place, we went on the stage and got our certificate. Finally, all our hardwork were finally paid off. I thanked God for His guidance all throughout the competition. Happiness were evident in each other's faces. I just mumbled "this is what victory feels like".
