My name's Christina and I'm grateful to the day when I am writing this, I'm still a Scranton scholar, who's just started my study in the Graduate school of language and literature, Petra Christian University. I have lost count on the blessings and kindness God has shown in my life since the day I accepted Him, truly, as the only Lord and savior. I remember the day I was awarded a Scranton scholarship in 2011. As a student, I felt nothing else, but pure gratefulness that I was still given a chance to pursue a higher education, as far as the opportunity would take me. I promised my self and others who have greatly helped me in the process that I should never cease to spread the importance of celebrating education and that everyone would have equal chance to initiate a change regardless their social background and gender. I believe that everything's possible if we make the best use of this opportunity to make ourselves a leader in any respective fields. Six years have passed since I completed my undergraduate study. I began to take a smaller step, yet full of confidence, to extend the goal of leadership. These small steps I'm taking is to begin a change by doing something I'm passionate about and that is in the area of English language teaching. I sure hope that all that I've learned, this experience I've gained in the last 6 years could take me even closer to bring about the good changes in my surrounding community and beyond. To me, personally, leadership isn't just about "leading". I believe everyone's born a leader, so long as we're willing to learn, to listen, and to apply what we know or what we've learned for the good of others. To stay encouraged and and to encourage others when times are hard.
I look forward to embracing the opportunity at hand! with this, full of thanksgiving, I'm happy to start yet another fun journey of learning as a graduate student! I thank God, I thank SWLC, and I thank you all.

regards,
Christina
