Scranton Women’s Leadership Center Scholarship in Korea consists of two main types: the SWLC-Ewha Scholarship and the Ph.D. in Theology Scholarship. The SWLC-Ewha Scholarship is open to female students who are accepted into master's or doctoral programs at Ewha Womans University in Seoul. The Ph.D. in Theology Scholarship is available to female professors who are accepted into doctoral programs at theological seminaries located in the metropolitan area of South Korea. The scholarship will annually cover tuition and living expenses in Korea.

Eligibility

SWLC-Ewha Scholarship Eligibility:

Female students from Scranton Scholarship partner institutions in Asia, who are planning to apply or have already applied to Ewha Womans University’s master's or doctoral programs, are eligible to apply for this Scholarship. The scholarship for master's programs is exclusively available for the Scranton Scholars who have previously received the Scranton scholarship. The scholarship for doctoral programs is open to all applicants. However, priority will be given to female faculty members without a doctoral degree. Applicants may apply regardless of their major, as long as they are pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree at a general graduate school. Please note that programs offered by professional graduate schools—such as those in law, medicine, business, or international studies—are not eligible. Priority will be given to Christian students.

For detailed information about the admission process at Ewha Womans University, please refer to this link and directly contact the University: http://isa.ewha.ac.kr/oisa/1442/subview.do Once an announcement regarding the admissions timeline is made available on the provided link, the selection process for the recipients of the SWLC-Ewha Scholarship will also commence. The detailed scholarship selection timeline will be uploaded on this page. Please check the attachments here for further information at that time.

Ph.D. in Theology Scholarship Eligibility:

Please thoroughly review the eligibility criteria and understand the application process by visiting the websites of the theological seminaries you are interested in.
